Pastor Mathew ministering to Boma church on Sunday April 27 |
MAY THE ALMIGHTY GOD HEAL PASTOR MATHEW KAKA
Suffering in Boma became even more real to me during my visit last week. A good friend of mine and of SEA Partners came under a vicious attack and is now fighting for his life.
On Sunday April 27, Pastor Mathew ( in red shirt) was well and ministering to the Boma church; but everything changed on the next day. Mathew responded to a distress call from his sister who was being beaten by her husband. As he reached her tukal, his brother-in-law suddenly opened the door and descended on him with a machete inflicting deep wounds on his face, arms and legs, leaving him for dead. Unfortunately, there was no help for him that night and he bled until until he became unconscious.
In the morning he was taken to the nearby military barracks where he was put on an IV drip and his wounds cleaned. Upon my arrival that evening, I was greeted with this sad news and we raised our voices in prayer for God to have mercy on Mathew and heal him. By mid-day on Wednesday April 30 when I was leaving Boma for Nairobi, he was still unconscious at the military camp.
I appeal to all of God's people to pray for him. Mathew has been a humble and God-fearing young man and leader in the Boma church. When I woke up this morning my heart was gripped with sadness not only for Mathew, but for the struggling church in Boma. So disturbed was I that I was unable write the report of my trip to Boma before making this appeal to pray for him. Please join me in praying for Pastor Mathew's healing as the Spirit leads you to do so.
May the Almighty God, the Lord of Lords, heal our brother Mathew and allow him to continue building the Kingdom in Boma to the glory of His Holy Name.
